Meet Helen Crompton Country: United Kingdom Teaches in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, North Carolina As a teacher in the United States, Helen Crompton weaves her British culture into lesson plans. In math, her students handle European currency, calculate exchange rates and experiment with different weights and measures. In literacy, they study English authors and playwrights. They hold Web conferences with subject-matter experts in the United Kingdom to learn about topics including World War II or Welsh mythology. "Ms. Crompton is a valuable asset to our school and to the community" says Assistant Principal Amanda Crisp.
