A modern international education goes beyond the approaches of the past — the memorization of foreign capitals or simply finding countries on a map — to expose students to the world's languages, its myriad cultures, its interdependent economies and the diverse perspectives of all of its people.
Designated by the U.S. Department of State as an Exchange Visitor Program, VIF helps K-12 schools build the 21st-century skills necessary for students to succeed in the global marketplace. As J-1 exchange teachers, VIF educators are uniquely positioned to bring a global mindset to the classroom, providing meaningful and memorable international education opportunities that influence the viewpoints of generations of students at home and abroad.
At VIF, we believe:
- All schools should have at least one international exchange teacher.
- All students should have a continuing variety of exchange teachers throughout their academic careers.
- All communities should have an equal opportunity to develop globally literate citizens to help build foundations for success in the global marketplace.
Success Through Collaboration
VIF is committed to these ideals. But without partnerships with leaders in education, government, business, the nonprofit sector and global communities, our efforts could not be successful.Together, we are building a better world.
